Ruth Wilkin papers, circa 1974-1984.

Includes records from the Silver-Haired Legislatures of the early 1980s, a program to provide legislative advocacy and a voice for aging individuals in Kansas, as well as other records and documents from the Department of Aging and other organizations and initiatives to have older voices heard and participate politically. Most of the collection consists of Wilkin's campaign files and home and office files from when she was a State Representative. These files include newsletters and updates to the Representatives; reference materials, constituent correspondence, meeting minutes, articles, and other materials related to committees on which Wilkin worked and generally on legislative issues; etc. The collection also includes some of her personal files, such as for her church committee work.

Ruth W. Wilkin was born 9 September 1918 in Atchison, Kansas. In 1940 she married Donald Keith Wilkin, and they settled in the Topeka, Shawnee County area.
